Hydrogen and Moisture Analyzer for Transformer Oil Monitoring TOR-2
The TOR-2 transformer oil express-tester is engineered for determining the levels of moisture and hydrogen in both mineral insulating oils and ether-based insulating oils, measured in parts per million (ppm).
By gauging the hydrogen and moisture content in the oil, along with monitoring the rate of parameter changes, it becomes possible to proactively identify developing issues within the transformer and implement timely measures to prevent transformer damage.
Moisture Measurement
The device employs a capacitance sensor to measure water activity, ensuring long-term stability and resistance to contamination. Simultaneously, it records the oil temperature. Moisture content is then calculated based on these measurements.
Hydrogen Measurement
To measure hydrogen content accurately and reliably, a highly selective solid-state sensor is immersed directly in the oil. Due to the low solubility of hydrogen in oil and its high diffusion capacity, it becomes easier to detect even at low concentrations, allowing for early identification of transformer issues.
