CMM-G Wind Turbine Gearbox Oil Changer

The CMM-G unit has been engineered to facilitate a three-stage process in the maintenance of wind turbine gearboxes: draining old oil, flushing the gearbox, and refilling it with new oil. This unit expedites the servicing of wind turbine oil systems, proving compatible with turbines from various manufacturers. Additionally, the CMM-G is equipped to heat clean oil.

The unit accommodates both mineral and synthetic oils, possessing the following properties:

  • Kinematic viscosity at 40°C: 8 to 50 mm2/sec
  • Density at 20°C: 800 to 950 kg/m3
  • ISO 4406 purity class: -/19/16 or better

Prior to transitioning to a different oil type, it is recommended to:

  1. Flush the unit to prevent the mixing of different oil types (mineral and synthetic).
  2. Change filter elements.

CMM-G Oil Changer Operation Modes for 250-gallon/950-liter tanks:

  1. Old Oil Drain Mode:
    • The unit’s vacuum pump extracts oil from the turbine gearbox into the unit.
  2. Gearbox Flush Mode:
    • Flushing oil is supplied to a height of up to 105 meters, fed into the gearbox at 5 bar pressure, washing away the remaining used oil and particulate matter.
  3. Heating and Filtration Mode:
    • This mode facilitates quick heating and filtration of clean oil before filling. After reaching a temperature of 70°C, the oil is supplied to the gearbox.
    • Simultaneously supplying oil to the gearbox and heating the next batch of oil for the next turbine is possible in this mode.
  4. Clean Oil Supply Mode:
    • The unit’s pump supplies oil to a height of up to 105 meters. Concurrently, the oil is filtered by 3 and 25 μm filters.

CMM-G Oil Changer Unit

  • The CMM-G, mounted on a trailer, comprises housing, clean and used oil tanks, and hose drums.
  • The housing’s side walls feature doors for easy access and servicing, with an accessory storage compartment on the left side.
  • A compartment with a rolling door contains a generator to power the unit in the absence of a grid connection.
  • Process parameters and automatic valves are managed by a controller.
  • The output hose is equipped with an oil meter at its end.
