Breakdown Voltage Tester TOR-100 (TOR-100 SL)
The TOR-100 tester is designed for determining the electrical breakdown voltage of transformer oil and other liquid dielectrics, following standards such as IEC 60156, VDE 0370, ASTM D877, ASTM D1816, and IRAM 2341. It’s worth noting that this list of standards can be adapted and expanded to accommodate customer preferences and updates in standards.
Principle of Operation
The core functionality of the tester revolves around a high-voltage transformer and electronic modules. The device operates by progressively increasing the voltage applied to the secondary winding of the high-voltage transformer, starting from zero and rising to the maximum value. Alternatively, it stops at a voltage level where a breakdown occurs within a liquid dielectric contained in a measuring cell. This cell is installed on the high-voltage contacts of the transformer and serves as an integral part of its output electrodes.
The elevation of voltage at the high-voltage contacts in the secondary winding of the transformer is achieved through a gradual increase in voltage on the primary winding. This primary winding receives a sinusoidal voltage from a controlled master inverter.
